Making the case for Valentine's Day

A Valentine's Day fortune just for you.

Whether you have someone special in your life or not, the excuse to take one day each year and dedicate it to telling someone you love them sounds like a pretty good idea to me. It seems like the remaining days of the year are reserved for saying some pretty terrible things to people so whether you are coupled, dating, or single, take a moment today to let someone in your life know how special they are to you and why. You may be surprised by how good it makes you feel; I can guarantee it will certainly brighten the day of the person you spoke to.

I don't need a special day to tell him (them...)

I couldn't agree more. It does not matter who it comes from, nor who you give your love to, nor if you are single or partnered, nor when it is done....there's always a day, time, to celebrate and be happy.

Nick - that is good to hear and lucky for those who know you, but that isn'tt the case with most people who rely on birthdays, anniversaries, and yes Valentine's Day to give pause and say "I love you". Maybe we need to throw a few more of these manufactured holidays into our life to remind people what's really important in life?

Cubby - thanks and same to you.

A Lewis - you and I are of like minds on this subject.

Very nice sentiments from all you gents, particularly in our current rather brusque culture that is distinctly short on simple manners (not any of YOU, of course).
