Which way?

I've included two photographs of the painting by Fernando de Oliveria we purchased this past weekend through a charity silent auction. A couple people left comments in my entry An evening at the Four Seasons that they would like to see the painting so I've posted it. We really like the painting and have a few places we can hang it. Let me know how you prefer this displayed.

Hi - you know I love that painting - go with vertical! It stands by itself and it speaks loudly that way!

In the 1st pic it seems to lose it's identity!

I'm following the crowd and saying vertical, too.
It's a gorgeous piece.

So, vertical it is! And @Cubby, when you turn it the other way around it looks like the 'imprint' is dropping of the painting.

For God's sake, man, whichever way you decide, do not keep it where it is pictured at bottom! It looks as if it is a mere decorative piece there! Place it over a mantelpiece, please!!!
