Support your local theater and artists

Ministry of Pleasure blog recently referenced one of my favorite musicals of all-time, Avenue Q. It is no longer on Broadway but continues to tour, and although seeing a broadway show is not quite the same as supporting your local theater scene - I still hope it inspires you to purchase tickets to a local play or musical.

Thanks for the post! To be honest, Avenue is gonna move out of London in 2 weeks time! I was lucky enough to get tickets to see it!

Avenue Q is a GREAT play! I saw it when it opened on Broadway years ago. And the song, 'Everybody's A Little Bit Racist' is SO true.

Nobody wants to admit it in our overly-politcally correct world, but the truth is, we are ALL a little bit racist - and ethnocentric.

I remember when I saw the play, I was working for a closeted gay investment banker who was a republican. There was a line in the play where the actors are talking about something and one of them refers to someone as 'he's gay, and an investment banker...and republican?! What good is that?!"

I nearly pee'd in my pantaloons, thinking of the man I worked for.

The following week he had a dinner date with a gal pal of his and asked me what the hottest theatre ticket was in town.

I told him to go see Avenue Q. (I'm so naughty.)
